That’s My Type

It’s super easy to say that I love books that are well written, have a smooth plot, good character development, and excellent world-building but what does that even really mean? My idea of good character development might be completely and totally different from your idea of good character development. Also, those criteria can change for me depending on; the genre of that book that I’m reading, if it’s fiction or nonfiction, when it was published, if it’s a translation, etc.

At the end of the day, these are the type of books that I tend to fall in love

I love books that make me feel.

I love books that can make me laugh and tear up either from happiness or sorrow.

I love books that can transport me to other places through sensory details.

I love books that make me think about my own relationships, future, and impact.

I love books that motivate me to go beyond what I think my limits are.

I love books that force me to pay attention.

I love books that force me to finish them because I’m absolutely ensnared in the story.

I love books where the characters feel real.

I love books that are informal.

I love books that are well-researched.

I love books that teach me new things and leave me wanting slightly more.

I love books that challenge my own biases.

I love books, regardless of their size as long as their stories fit.

and

I love books that make me love books.

________

What types of books do you fall in love with?

Hope you have a lovely day and read a wonderful book
